Franchise investment & monthly turnover estimator
Put your own assumptions — opening order, range, doctors and prescriptions — into one simple model and see what monthly turnover and gross margin they imply, how long your opening stock lasts and how sensitive the result is. The output is illustrative, not a forecast.

Monthly purchases to replenish stock: — · Months of gross margin equal to the initial order: —
Illustrative, not a guarantee. This tool only multiplies the numbers you entered. It is not a forecast or an offer, and FertiLogic does not promise any turnover, margin or income. Gross margin is before salaries, travel, freight, credit, expiry and tax.
How it works
The arithmetic, step by step
The model is deliberately simple so you can check every number by hand. It has no hidden growth rates and no built-in FertiLogic figures — only what you type.
Prescriptions per month
Doctors × Rx per doctor per day × working daysThe prescriptions your detailing generates in a month.
Monthly turnover
Prescriptions per month × value per prescriptionWhat you invoice to chemists, at your selling rate.
Gross margin & purchases
Margin = turnover × margin% · Purchases = turnover − marginPurchases are what you spend each month to replace the stock you sold.
Stock cover & recovery
Cover = initial order ÷ monthly purchases · Recovery = initial order ÷ monthly marginHow long the opening order lasts, and how many months of gross margin equal it.
Formula check with round placeholder numbers (not a projection): 10 doctors × 1 Rx/day × 25 days = 250 prescriptions. At ₹100 each that is ₹25,000 turnover; at 20% margin, ₹5,000 gross margin and ₹20,000 of purchases. A ₹10,000 opening order would cover 0.5 months of purchases.
Before you invest
What the estimate does not include
- Licences and set-up. A wholesale drug licence (Forms 20B / 21B), GST registration and compliant storage are needed before stock can be invoiced to you. The starter kit PDF has the full checklist.
- Running costs. Travel, MR salaries or your own time, freight, rent and phone costs come out of gross margin.
- Working capital. Chemists often buy on credit, so cash comes in later than turnover. Keep a buffer beyond the first order.
- Prescription build-up. New brands take time to be prescribed. Use the 50% and 75% rows to plan for a slower start.
- Range choice. 8 brands are listed on this site across 6 therapy segments; ask for the full range. Choose SKUs that match the doctors you visit — see therapy segments.
FAQ
Franchise investment estimator — questions
How the estimate is calculated and how to use it responsibly.
How does the estimator work out monthly turnover?
It multiplies the doctors you detail by the prescriptions you expect per doctor per working day and by the working days in a month, then by the average value you invoice per prescription. Your margin percentage is applied to that turnover. The scenario table repeats the sum at 50% and 75% of your expected prescriptions so you can see how sensitive the result is.
Is the result a promise of earnings?
No. The figures are illustrative and only as good as the numbers you enter. FertiLogic does not promise or guarantee any turnover, margin or income. Actual results depend on prescriber behaviour, local demand, competition, your visit frequency, credit to chemists and stock management.
What is the minimum investment to start a FertiLogic franchise?
The minimum first order is ₹10,000. You also need a valid wholesale drug licence (Forms 20B / 21B) and GST registration. Budget separately for licensing, storage, travel and working capital — the estimator only covers the stock order.
What should I enter as the value per prescription?
Enter what you would invoice the chemist for the quantity dispensed on one prescription, at your selling rate (PTR, excluding GST). If you know the MRP and the margins, the PTR & PTS calculator works this out per strip.
Which margin percentage should I use?
Use the margin in your own quote — the difference between what you pay and what you sell at, as a percentage of your selling price. FertiLogic partner rates for your district are shared at quote stage; do not rely on a generic figure.
How many products (SKUs) should a new partner start with?
Start from the doctors you already visit. The 6 therapy segments show which molecules each specialty prescribes, so you can pick a focused opening range rather than spreading a small first order across every product.
What does “gross margin” leave out?
Everything that is not the product itself: MR salaries or your own time, travel, freight, rent, credit given to chemists, expiry and breakage, taxes and finance costs. Subtract those from the gross margin to judge whether a territory works for you.
